If you’re a South African student in your second year or higher, the Shoprite Bursary Programme 2026 could change your future. This isn’t just about money—it’s about stepping into a real career with one of Africa’s biggest retail companies. Applications close on 31 May 2026, so time matters now.
What Is This Opportunity?
Shoprite is offering bursaries to students studying in four key areas: accounting, agriculture, supply chain and logistics, and retail management. Each stream connects directly to jobs that exist in the company right now.
This means you’re not just getting a qualification. You’re being trained for a real role at Shoprite, with mentorship, workplace experience, and a strong chance of employment when you graduate.
Who Can Apply?
Basic Requirements
You must be:
- A South African citizen
- 27 years old or younger
- In your 2nd, 3rd, or 4th year of study (or postgraduate level)
- Achieving at least 60–65% in your coursework

Many applicants struggle with missing documents—check everything twice before uploading.
What Will You Gain?
This bursary covers your study costs, but the benefits go much deeper.
You’ll get real experience working inside Shoprite divisions. You’ll have a mentor guiding your development. You’ll receive career-focused training tailored to your field. And most importantly—there’s a genuine pathway to employment after graduation.

How to Stand Out
Your CV matters. Tailor it to match the stream you’re applying for. If you’re going for logistics, highlight any projects or coursework related to supply chain or operations management.
If you’re applying for accounting, show your commitment to professional development. For agriculture, demonstrate practical experience or passion for the sector. For retail, show that you understand customer service and business operations.
Be honest in your application. Shoprite wants students who are serious about growing with the company, not just chasing the funding.
What’s Next?
